You wrote, “signs and symbols of the graffiti culture, their meaning changes according to the idiosyncrasy of the artist.” That is a good thing. Graffiti should change with the times and culture. Back in the 1970s I photographed (I called it Street Talk) graffiti all over Los Angeles California. And even then it was changing depending on the location.
You image is more than a document of what some artist placed on a wall. It is the reason I like your work….the story.
Thanks John.
There are (at least) two stories in each of my photographs: one is the message I try to convey, the other is that the viewer interprets. This last one is the most important for me because it gives me a whole new outlook on reality helping to open my mind.
this image awakened memories of my time as a therapist when I was working with a homeless male who taught me about the culture of graffiti and the respect these artist have for each other’s work. Thank you for sharing this image as it allowed me to revisit that time.
Thanks Elena
I might be that it shows us where is the treasure of self-knowledge. But we still need to find the key that unlocks the door of perception.
Thanks Poppy.
I’m sure that someone is rushing to you to take you up in his/her arms, to hold you next to his/her heart and to tell you to let yourself be loved.
Ah marcelo that is just the most beautiful reply … *smile… and I am so very fortunate in that I do have someone very special who is there for me always … thank you for that …
I do love contemplating your images … they stir up emotions
I do hope the year so far is being kind to you too xx

I am afraid we may need a new Rosetta stone to decipher the signs and symbols of the graffiti culture, their meaning changes according to the idiosyncrasy of the artist.
For a little while now, I have realized that no matter how bad, sad o or horrendous a situation can be, I can always change it with a smile.

Una incógnita, una X, una persona que desdibuja sin resolverla, casi sin verla.
Gracias Carlos.

Well said Marcelo. So many photographers forget their photographs, like a poets poetry, depends on how it is interpreted. You realize that.

It’s a monochrome photo, but I feel that I could see the color.
Thanks Sachie.
