Fabulous image, Marcelo, such atmosphere and emotion. I have had to re-follow your blog, I thought it was strange that I wasn’t getting notification of posts!
Marcelo, this is absolutely one of my most favorite of your photos … if not my most favorite. I just love everything about it. Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks Ulli.
The dark and silent alleyways invited us to reflect upon life, death or the passage of time.

What if a demon were to creep after you one day or night, in your loneliest loneness, and say : “This life which you live and have lived, must be lived again by you, and innumerable times more. And there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and every sigh – everything unspeakably small and great in your life – must come again to you, and in the same sequence and series…”. Would you not throw yourself down and curse the demon who spoke to you thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment, in which you would answer him : “Thou art a god, and never have I heard anything more divine!”
Frederick Nietzsche – The Gay Science
Marcelo,
Your wonderfully evocative image reminds me that with age comes the light of wisdom. We should cherish the elderly, they have so much to teach us. Instead the North American culture I live in would hide them away. We sprinkle all of our gems at the feet of youth, as a payment to worship their young culture. _Resa xo
Thanks Resa, I cannot agree more with thoughtful comment.
I will always be thankful to those who have taught me to listen to the others more closely and to consider the troubles they face. Listening to people, regardless of his or her age, have made me a person richer on the inside and better equipped to distinguish good from bad and, at the same time, their different visions of what life is let me grow into more global person, and now I can see the world through wider eyes.
Keep smiling
